TASK 2 ESSAY

In the last decades an essential person appeared with innovation invention, which was a two wheel bicycle that made a huge impact in the earlier years. Bicycles are one of the most crucial and ubiquitous forms of transportation in the world. Many people in the world use a bicycle to transform from one place to another. In addition, other people use the bicycle as a hobby for them in order to entertain themselves in their free time. Therefore, in my point of view, Karl Drais, the man who invented the innovate bicycle, is an essential man who has a lot of creativity.

In the beginning, Baron von Drais or Karl Drais was born on 29 April 1785 in Karlsruhe, Germany, he was an creative inventor who invented a walking machine that would help him get around the places so fast. In addition, he also discovered   the velocipede or as he like to call it a “Draisienne”. Drais also found early typewriter with a keyboard in 1821. From 1803-1805, Drais studied architecture, agriculture and physics at the University of Heidelberg. Moreover, He joined as forestry officials, worked as a teacher at his uncle's private forestry agencies, and in 1810 received his chief forester, but its position has not been determined. One year later he was suspended from his service, but continues to receive a salary so that he could devote more time to his invention. Furthermore, on june 12, 1817 he Reported first journey, from Mannheim to Schwetzinger Relaishaus. However, On January 12, 1818, Drais was awarded a title of respect for the duke as a reward for his discovery.

In 1817 Drais invented a walking machine which it was made of two same-size in-line wheels, the front one steerable, mounted in a frame which you straddled. The device was propelled by pushing your feet against the ground, thus rolling yourself and the device forward in a sort of gliding walk. The machine became known as the Draisienne or hobby horse. It was made entirely of wood. This enjoyed a short lived popularity as a fad, not being practical for transportation in any other place than a well maintained pathway such as in a park or garden.

At the end, Drais made our life easier and more entertainment for us, because of the variety of uses of his innovation invention. Moreover, I strongly believe that his invention changed a lot of people lives. Thus, a variety of people become challengers, because of the ambition that they made of to spend around the world by bicycle.  Therefore, people should be thankful to him, for inventing a form of transportation that has its own efficient and creativity in these days.
